AskTranslator uses software, OCR systems, language models, and artificial intelligence systems, including third-party AI providers, to process documents and generate outputs.
The Service may perform:

(b) OCR extraction from images, scans, and documents;
(c) text conversion;
(d) summarisation;
(e) formatting assistance; and
(f) other AI-assisted language-processing tasks.
Outputs are generated automatically and are not certified, notarised, sworn, attested, or approved by human translators or professionals.
Limited human access to documents may occur only as described in our Privacy Policy, such as for user-requested support, troubleshooting, security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance. Documents processed under Auto-delete Mode, Private Mode, or System-Detected Private Mode are excluded from routine manual quality review.
AI-generated and OCR-generated outputs may contain:
(a) errors; (b) omissions; (c) mistranslations; (d) OCR mistakes; (e) formatting errors; (f) hallucinations; (g) ambiguous meanings; (h) cultural inaccuracies; (i) bias; (j) missing text; (k) incorrect names, dates, numbers, or legal references; or (l) unintended or inappropriate wording.
Output quality may depend on factors outside our control, including document quality, handwriting, scan resolution, file format, source language, target language, subject matter, context, and third-party AI-provider performance.
We do not guarantee that any output is accurate, complete, current, reliable, legally valid, culturally appropriate, or suitable for your intended purpose.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, correcting, and validating all outputs before using or relying on them.

We are not responsible for rejection, delay, penalty, adverse decision, or loss arising from submission of an AskTranslator output where a certified, official, or professionally reviewed document was required.
OCR outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, especially where documents are:
(a) handwritten; (b) faded; (c) damaged; (d) blurred; (e) low-resolution; (f) partially visible; (g) skewed or distorted; (h) stylised; (i) watermarked; (j) folded or creased; (k) in complex layouts; (l) in tables or columns; (m) in mixed languages; (n) affected by stamps or seals; or (o) otherwise difficult to read.
OCR may misread letters, numbers, dates, names, symbols, signatures, seals, stamps, and handwritten text.
You must compare OCR output against the original document before relying on it.
The Website, Service, and all outputs are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of:
(a) accuracy; (b) completeness; (c) reliability; (d) fitness for a particular purpose; (e) merchantability; (f) non-infringement; (g) title; (h) availability; (i) security; (j) uninterrupted operation; (k) error-free operation; and (l) acceptance by any third party.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, error-free, or free from viruses or harmful components.

Provider categories, personal-data handling, and provider-training safeguards are described in our Privacy Policy. Third-party providers may experience errors, outages, service degradation, model limitations, security incidents, policy changes, rate limits, or infrastructure issues.
We are not responsible for third-party provider failures, limitations, or independent acts, except to the extent liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You are responsible for:
(a) ensuring that you have the right and authority to upload each document;
(b) ensuring that uploaded documents do not violate law, confidentiality, privacy, data-protection, intellectual-property, or contractual obligations;
(c) reviewing and verifying all outputs;

(e) downloading outputs before expiry;
(f) keeping independent backups of your original documents and outputs;
(g) ensuring that your use of the Service and outputs complies with applicable law; and

You should not upload documents primarily concerning a child or minor unless you have lawful authority and such processing is not prohibited by applicable law. If the Service detects child or minor personal data, we may refuse processing, delete the document, restrict access, or apply Private Mode.
AskTranslator is a translation, OCR, and AI language-processing service. It is not a document storage, archiving, or backup service.
Retention rules for Standard Mode, Auto-delete Mode, Private Mode, and System-Detected Private Mode are described in our Terms and Privacy Policy.
In summary:
(a) standard-mode documents and outputs may be retained for up to 90 days from job completion;
(b) Auto-delete Mode documents and their processed copies are scheduled for deletion within 72 hours from job completion, failed processing status, or termination of processing, as applicable;
(c) Private Mode documents and their processed copies are scheduled for deletion within 72 hours from job completion, failed processing status, or termination of processing, as applicable; and
(d) System-Detected Private Mode documents and their processed copies are scheduled for deletion within 72 hours from job completion, failed processing status, or termination of processing, as applicable, and the mode cannot be overridden or downgraded by the user.
After deletion, you will no longer be able to access the uploaded file, OCR text, translation, translated file, summary, preview, or other processed copy through the Service.
You are responsible for downloading and saving outputs you wish to keep before expiry.
We are not liable for loss of access caused by deletion in accordance with our Terms and Privacy Policy, except to the extent liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
We do not guarantee preservation, integrity, availability, or recoverability of uploads or outputs beyond applicable retention periods.
You should maintain independent copies of:
(a) original documents;
(b) translated files;
(c) OCR outputs;
(d) summaries; and
(e) any output you wish to keep.
We are not responsible for loss caused by your failure to save or back up documents or outputs.
The limitation of liability, excluded damages, liability cap, and non-excludable rights are set out in our Terms and Conditions and apply to this Disclaimer to the extent permitted by law.
Without limiting the Terms, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from inaccurate or unsuitable outputs, OCR errors, mistranslations, hallucinations, failure to obtain professional review, rejection by authorities or third parties, third-party provider failures, deletion under applicable retention rules, your failure to download or retain outputs, or events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, breach of a statutory duty that cannot be excluded, consumer rights that cannot be waived, data-protection obligations that cannot be limited, or regulatory penalties imposed by a competent authority.
